fully baked...Mom...and Dad
Yup...today I am 37 weeks, meaning Baby T can come any time now! :) It was such a wonderful feeling to make it this far...I am a huge worry wart and I just prayed everyday to get to this point, when I can finally relax. Today is also my Mom's birthday!! So we get to celebrate two great milestones!! Yippppeeee!! Happy Birthday Mom! I am so excited to go to lunch with you today! :)
Last night we went to the Angels game with some friends and it reminded me of a couple of people I really miss. My dad, Patrick and Bill, three amazing dad's. They each have a special Angels brick laid there and I was thinking about them all night. It was our first game back to the stadium since we were there with Patrick. Tugged on my heart strings a little... :(
I have been thinking about my dad a lot lately, as the due date gets closer. Just the fact that my son will never know his Grandpa and my Dad will never get to know his first grandchild. He wasn't there to walk me down the aisle on the most important day of my life and he won't be there for the birth of my first child. I was a major Daddy's girl and would love to share this special moment with him. I miss you so much Dad and promise to tell our little boy all about you and what a great father you were to me. I think back almost every day to our last moments together in Hawaii. I took him there in January of 2006, just 5 months after he was diagnosed with cancer. Just me and dad, it was his Christmas present. Dad was a huge surfer and had always dreamt of going to Hawaii...well we made it there, and the 2nd day he went into the hospital....that is where we spent the rest of the trip. Not our 'ideal' Hawaiian vacation, but at least we made it and he saw a little part of it. He struggled for a couple days and those were the hardest days of my life, being alone, so far from home in a place where you are supposed to go to be happy and carefree. I would walk the streets of Hawaii at night alone, seeing all of the happy people with their nice tans, loving their vacation...it wasn't a vacation for me...I was miserable and didn't know what to do. Dad went to heaven in my arms on January 25th, and he flew home from Hawaii in a box...it just wasn't fair...it wasn't supposed to end like this. We were supposed to have an amazing trip together...just the two of us, I was planning on telling him about my future with Heath and how excited I was to marry the man of my dreams and have children and make him a Grandpa...and how thankful I was for him, and how much I have learned from him...I had it all planned....it was going to be a bonding trip and a memorable trip for me to express everything I always wanted to say to him....I din't get to tell him anything but 'I love you' and 'We will make it through this dad, stay strong'. I never got to tell him anything more. I know he knew....but I really wanted to say it again...Why did he have to leave me so soon? I guess I will never understand some of God's plan, but I am trying. I love you so much Dad I will see you in heaven...hope you are pain free and enjoying it up there :) P.S. Our son's middle name is Michael, after you dad!! You will live in him forever! :) xoxo
