relay for life...

Today I joined my best friend, Alicia, and her family for the Relay for Life in Walnut. This relay really touches a special place in my heart, especially since my dad passed away 2 years ago with Lung Cancer. I walked a couple of laps for him today! Next year I would love to be a lot more involved and maybe start a team in memory of my dad! It was such a great event!

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. It offers everyone in a community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Relays are an overnight event, up to 24 hours in length.

Teams of people from all walks of life have fun while raising much-needed funds to fight cancer and raise awareness of cancer prevention and treatment.

Relay For Life is a life-changing event that brings together more than 3.5 million people to:

• Celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer. The strength of survivors inspires others to continue to fight.
• Remember loved ones lost to the disease. At Relay, people who have walked alongside people battling cancer can grieve and find healing.
• Fight Back. We Relay because we have been touched by cancer and desperately want to put an end to the disease.

So I just downloaded some actions on my new Photoshop program and was playing around with them tonight...Heath rode his bike to Costa Mesa to watch me play my Tuesday night Softball game...hehe and on the way home I took pics of him on his bike with my phone...here they are...I am still learning this photoshop thing...

I am sure I will learn more and it probably would help if I had a real camera...but for now it's fun! :)

soooo hot!

For those of you that know me...know that I am NOT a fan of heat...basically...I can NOT handle being hot, so the past couple of days have really been hard. Since Heath's dad has not been feeling well while going through his chemo treatments, Heath has volunteered to do some yard work for them, so we went over to their house and cleaned their pool for them, and then decided to use it! I don't think Bailey has ever been in the pool before, so we thought we would throw her in today! We had a great time by the pool today...

swim Bailey!!!!

she made it! :)

pottery barn outlet...

Is my new favorite place! Ok, so I am addicted to Pottery Barn, for those of you who do not know, but it kills me to spend so much money on their things all the time...well...a Pottery Barn outlet opened in Lake Elsinore. Heath and I have heard mixed reviews about it from friends, but on Saturday, we decided to see for ourselves...

We have been looking at, and looking at, and looking at, a corner desk set from PB for months, but couldn't bring ourselves to spending almost $1,000 on it...so we decided to see if the outlet had it...doubtful...

To our surprise..they had some of the pieces! We were sooo excited! We got 2 of the 3 pieces for 1/4 of the cost! The last piece (top of the desk) we had to buy full price at the normal Pottery Barn, but still....it was sooo worth the trip. So we bought the pieces Saturday and then went back and picked them up on Sunday, as well as some other things, I just COULD NOT live without! :) Check em out! :)

Our garage threw up PB boxes... :)

The finished product! I just love it!! :) It fits in our little space perfect! 1 inch to spare on each side! :)

A patio set I 'had to have', it is perfect for our balcony off of our bedroom upstairs...

Detail of the mosaic top I love! :)

lindsey & sean ripley!

On 6.07.08 (a quite popular wedding day!) we attended Lindsey & Sean's beautiful wedding at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Course in Mission Viejo. We had such a great time. It was a special wedding for me, well, because I introduced them!!!

I have known Lindsey since Junior High, and after college we became roommates! Well I was working for Shea Properties at the time and worked with Sean. One night, Lindsey and I decided to hang out with some of my Shea peeps, which included Sean, and they fell in love at first sight! :) It was a great wedding, because I saw friends from high school as well as old work friends! Congrats Sean and Lindsey Ripley!!
