no doubt about it. He ran another Half Marathon... Each time he runs them he trains less and less and does better and better. The hardest he ever trained was for his first marathon which was in January of 2009. He was training with his friend Patrick, and they were running day after day. Actually Patrick is the one that talked him into running a half-marathon. At first Heath was hesitant but is always up for a challenge so he went for it! My friend Erynn and I used to tease them that they were lovers. They were together all the time. After Patrick died just 3 weeks before they were to run together...Heath made a promise to himself he was going to run that marathon alone. It was a very emotional day for many, but he made it through. This year marked his 3rd Surf City marathon without Patrick. He did better than ever and I couldn't have been more proud. He surprised me and wore a bright green shirt in honor of Patrick (he was irish and we always wear green to honor him), he sported his green bracelets and named his bib '3 for PR' We love and miss you Patrick.
