our trip up the california coast...

So the weekend before Christmas our little family headed up the coast for 4 days...one of Heath's best friends from high school is moving to Washington DC at the end of the month and we are going to miss them SOOO much.  They live 4 hours from us now, but we still try and see them as much as possible.  Now they are moving to the other side of the country :(  I guess it will give us an excuse to visit DC...a place I have never been! :)  Anyway...the boys try and make it to at least one 49er game a year together since they are both huge fans...so this year it was the Monday night game in San Francisco.
We left on Saturday for Monterey...first stop.

We met them there, visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium which was huge and amazing...now I know why its the top museum in the US.  Such a great place!  The kids had a blast! :)

That night in Monterey we walked to the Pier from our hotel and it was FREEZING!  They had outdoor ice skating...so cool, Tyler was in heaven :)  We ate and then walked straight back we were so cold :)

The boys were nice enough to let us two go get manicures and pedicures...ahhhh heaven :)

Then we decided to take a LONG walk to Ghiardelli Square...it was a LONG walk in the cold...but we rewarded ourself once we got there :)

The next day we took the kids to the Children's Creativity Museum...we were some of the only ones there since we got there as soon as it opened...the kids had a blast!

Then we moved on to the next area and made ourselves a frosty...here are the 'guts' then you cover it with the colors...pretty cool...we made a video of our little frosty too..see below

On the way out we saw this pretty cool playground...I was shocked Tyler wanted to go down those tube slides...he shot out of them like a canon!  Holly caught it on video :)

We got back to the hotel and the boys were ready for the game!

The 49ers won against the Steelers that night...woo hoo!! 

Here we are saying our goodbye's to them...so sad...but can't wait to come visit in DC :)

The whole trip all he could talk about was Addison...so cute :)

After leaving Paso Robles...we passed through this crazy field..it looked a little freaky with all of the oil derricks 

Such a great trip with awesome friends...can't wait to do it again :)  xoxo
