pismo beach vacation day 1 & 2

Last Sunday we loaded up the motorhome and headed to Pismo Beach with the kids for our very first little vacation as a family of 4...err 5...Bailey included :)  It was 5 days, 4 nights and was PERFECT.  We had great weather, Brielle slept like a champ, Tyler slept in a big boy bed without rails for the first time and did great! We kept busy all day everyday and it was so nice to just get away and veg-out for the week.  :)  I like to remember places we ate and things we did so when we come back we can look this post up and make sure we visit them again...or not.  :)  Also, if anyone plans on going to Pismo, you can bookmark this and keep note of things to do, etc! :)  On the 3rd day there, one of my old sorority sisters contacted me and informed me she grew up there and gave me a long list of things to do and places to eat...you better believe we took her up on pretty much all of it.  It is always great to have a local resident give you tips on places to go and things to do that aren't necessarily so 'touristy'.

We left the house around 6:30am and got into Pismo around 11:30 after stopping for breakfast...we got unloaded and all set up, put the kids down for a nap and just relaxed....soo nice :) When they woke up we picked up some Mexican food to go (thanks to Yelp for leading us to a great place) and took the Jeep for a drive on.the.beach.  Yes, pretty sure it's the only place in California you can actually drive on the beach.  It was awesome!  We parked it and had a little picnic on the beach...watched the sunset and headed back...I could tell Heath really wanted to do some more off-roading, but I shot him down when I had to remind him we had a 2.5 month old in the car...we will definitely be back when the kids are older and take them off-roading in the dunes.

all set up...got a great spot!  If you go, make sure you ask for an end spot!  We had spot 206 and it was great because we had that nice grass area and were right by the pool and beach
